Students develop a method for measuring force using springs. Students will then use their force measuring technique to accomplish a task, namely launching an object onto a target. Students learn about scales, standards, balanced and unbalanced forces, and the effects of forces on objects. Students also gain exposure to ways engineers use springs in real machines.
